Approval at last!

Planning permission was granted in February, subject to provisional amendments by the Highways Department. These amendments have caused several delays, but work is expected to commence in January 2010.

We still have a finacial short-fall and would be grateful of any amounts
you feel able to give, however small.
Donation details follow at the foot of the page.

The Salvation Army was brought to Sheringham in the mid-1880's by Sheringham fishermen converted at Grimsby. Early meetings were held
at sea, then in a net loft, on Lifeboat Plain. The present Cremer Street Hall was built in 1896 and completly renovated in 1934. In more recent times adjacent buildings have been acquired, giving the Corps extra room but in an awkward arrangement. Very little of the present building is two storey.

The Corps is flourishing but lack of space restricts many of our activities
and services to the community. So the plan is to go-ahead with a
total redevelopment of the current site
and rebuild more versatile and
useful premises.

We need £1.3 million - a formidable sum, but we believe achievable. We can raise about half of this from legacies, savings and a mortgage.

An information brochure is available from John Copeman,

Or if you feel able to send a donation now please make cheques payable to Sheringham Salvation Army, Re-Building Fund and post to:
(Re-Building Fund) Major Ian Robinson,
35 Cliff Road, Sheringham, Norfolk, NR26 8BJ.
(If you pay tax, we can send you a Gift Aid form, which greatly increases the value of your gift.)

Thank you for your support. May God bless you.
